Day 13

What an awesome day it was!  We started off making chocolate chip cookies….who doesn't love cookies?  We got to taste them at the end of the day and they are muy delicioso!  After making the delectable morsels, we were able to flavor the cheese we made two days ago.  We flavored with sun dried tomato, herbs de provence, fresh rosemary etc.  They are going to be on display with the cheese plates we present on Friday.  The next project was pretty spectacular as each of us were give 5 dollars and told to navigate the Santa Monica Farmers Market.  Ohhh man, what an incredible market with beautiful produce at every stall.  Our purpose was to buy ingredients and make a farmers market salad.  As we talked to each vendor about our project, a lot of them gave us amazing produce for no cost.  We purchased squash blossoms, beautiful greens, mango, strawberry, onion sprouts, heirloom tomatoes, carrots and few others.
After bringing our items back to the classroom, each of us made a spectacular salad!  Coming back after the lunch break, we plunged into bread.  We made sesame slider buns for an upcoming project.  Next we made garlic bread with the help of Irish moss paste.  Who knew seaweed was so versatile?  That concluded the day and what a completely perfect day it was!  Cant wait for what tomorrow holds.
